Cyber Security Engineer

Support & Maintenance
What you will do:
  • Contributing to the development of strategies and architectures for Gcore’s secure cyber environments;
  • Developing cyber security anti-ddos protection technology solutions for CDN, Network and Hosting products, including application of technology in areas such as intrusion detection, data analytics, malware analysis, authentication, identity and access management
  • Assuring the security of Gcore’s cyber environment through detection, analysis, forensics, and reverse engineering of malware
  • Producing detailed, accurate reports of results and conclusions of analysis and engineering
  • Participating in a cross-functional team to respond to cyber incidents and remediate attacks
  • Collecting attack and investigation metrics and trending data
  • Serving as Gcore’s cyber security subject matter expert on both internal and external teams
Required Skills:
  • OS systems: FreeBSD (NAT, IPFW, Squid, MRTG, Syslog, BIND, FTP, Apache HTTP, Routing, NetFlow, TACACS, DHCP), IOS, IOS XR, EOS
  • Equipment: wide range of Cisco equipment running in IOS/XR/XE software, Arista 7x series, Juniper Mx series
  • Technology: TCP/IP, PPP, Ethernet, VLAN, VPN, EVPN, MPLS, CEF, IPv6
  • Routing: Rip, Rip v2, EIGRP, OSPF (both versions), BGP (IBGP, EBGP, MBGP, Flow Spec), PBR
  • Layer 2 protocols: STP (RSTP, MST, PVST), REP, Ether Channel (LACP, PAGP)
  • VLAN and trunking: VLAN, PVLAN, VTP, Dot1q, Q-in-Q, Cisco EVC
  • Security: ACL, IOS firewall, AAA, Dot1x, ASA
  • Tunneling: VPN (VPDN, IPsec [Remote, L2L], AToM, VPLS, MPLS L3vpn, GRE, L2TPV3, MPLS-TE, VXLAN), EVPN
  • QOS: marking (DSCP, COS, EXP); queuing: WFQ, CBWFQ, SRRQ, WRRQ; shaping, policing, WRED
  • Redundancy: HSRP, VRRP, GLBP, BFD, FRR
  • Programming: knowledge in Python is strongly appreciated
  • Knowledge of Russian (Native)
  • Knowledge of English (Intermediate)
Desired Skills:
  • Ability to analyze network traffic and packet capture to understand data flows and identify anomalous behavior
  • Familiarity with the use of Anti-DDOS protection solutions like: Arbor PF, Radware, Check Points firewalls and other vendor based threat mitigation
  • Ability to analyze data structures, and TCP/IP based protocols traffic patterns
  • Deep knowledge in network design, implementation, and administration, web services WAF protection, application servers, firewalls, routers, switches, and unique technical approaches to providing strong network security
  • Demonstrated software engineering experience with development tools (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Python) is appreciated
  • Familiarity in secure-system design principles and information assurance principles, including next-generation networking, computing technologies
  • Familiarity in informatics processes and tools for information extraction from large datasets or heterogeneous data sources
  • Proven ability to research and develop technology solutions for cyber security ( anti-ddos protection ) applications
  • Proven strong analytical skills
  • Outstanding customer service orientation and teaming abilities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely
  • Graduate degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Forensics, Mathematics, or a related field
